About RivalScope

Built for the people who have to answer “what just changed?”

RivalScope is an analyst-grade monitoring system for product marketers, competitive intelligence leads, and founding teams who need a sourced, dated answer — not a screenshot in Slack.

Why we're building it

The Notion page that's three weeks out of date.

Every product marketer, competitive intelligence lead, and founder we talked to had the same routine: open a Notion page, scroll through stale screenshots, then go check the competitor's pricing page in a new tab "just to be sure."

The information existed — on the public internet, sitting on the competitor's own site. The work of finding the change, dating it, sourcing it, and deciding whether it mattered was the part that got skipped, because nobody had time to do it every week.

RivalScope is the system we wished we had. It watches the public surfaces for you, captures the diff, scores the signal, and puts the result somewhere your team will actually read it — Slack, the inbox, the API, your CRM. Then it stays out of the way.

We're building it for the people who get asked "what just changed?" and want to be able to answer with a date, a source, and a screenshot — every time.

Principles

Four rules we hold the product to.

These aren't aspirational slogans. They're the criteria we use when we decide what ships and what doesn't.

Evidence over opinion

Every event we surface ships with the source page, the parsed diff, and the reasoning behind its confidence score. If we can't show the receipt, we don't ship the alert.

Signal over volume

It's easy to flood an inbox with crawl results. The harder, more useful work is suppressing the cosmetic edits, A/B variants, and footer reshuffles so only the moves that matter make it through.

Public sources only

We only watch what any analyst could read by hand: pricing pages, careers pages, product docs, changelogs, press releases, public blogs. Nothing gated, nothing scraped from behind a login.

Calm, not loud

The product is an analyst tool, not a notification platform. We design for the person who has to brief their team on Monday — readable digests, sober severity, no engagement loops.
